Ominous tone. Experimental shot in Nikon D40x with a different POV: upside down composition, 180 degrees, through my legs. One softbox was used aimed 45 degrees slightly right off the reclining model. She lies on a matte-black cloth to make her appear receding into infinitesimal darkness/black continuum -- like she's trapped in an out-of-this world enclosure. (I wonder how it looks/feels like to be a corpse "waiting in the dark...")

I did post processing only with Black and White Conversion. I sprinkled with mild grains (in Photoshop parlance: NOISE) to add that gritty look-and-feel. Then, to give the lights and shadows oomph, a healthy dose of Dodge and Burn was applied. Finally, the lips and left hand were enhanced with a mighty tool called R. You can check her feet as well. Creative Digital Photography need not be complicated. :)

This and all will be part of my discussions & hands-on approach on August 16's Lights and Shadows (a creative digital photography workshop.)

I saw this in Easley, SC. It made me wonder if "coroner" was a politically sensitive position in a local government. Or shouldn't the county government just hire one?
